Most solar sales reps don’t understand this:

Rooftop solar is about control.

It’s not about saving the planet.

At least not for most homeowners I meet.

It’s about:

→ Control over rising utility bills
→ Control over outages
→ Control over who profits from their roof

A lot of reps lead with “go green.”

But very few homeowners care deeply about going green. (The passionate “go-green” types are actually a very niche crowd)

99% of the time, leading with something like, “Are you tired of giving your utility a blank check?” is the way to go.

Also, solar isn’t a luxury anymore.

The barrier to entry to get solar is at an all-time low.

It’s better to pitch it as an insurance policy against:

→ Unpredictable rates.
→ Extreme weather.
→ A grid that’s getting older by the day.

And here’s the kicker:

In Maryland, capacity charges alone will soon make up 27% of your total bill, which is triple what they were two years ago.

Homeowners won’t go solar because it’s trendy.

But they will if they’re tired of feeling powerless (no pun intended)

That’s the sale.

→ Not panels.
→ Not batteries.
→ Not kilowatts.

Control.
